Elizabeth Olsen‘s sisters may be Mary-Kate and Ashley, but it seems like the 28-year-old has her own twin on her hands—Aubrey Plaza. While Plaza obviously isn’t Olsen’s biological twin, the two do share an eerily similar fashion sense—judging from the identical outfits they wore to their film’s movie premiere last night.
The actresses made fans do a double-take when they stepped onto the red carpet in the exact same frock: a black, high-neck mini dress with circular embellishments and cuffed sleeves. But unlike the accidental matching we’ve seen on the bodies of celebs like Gigi Hadid and Lily Collins, Olsen and Plaza’s twinning was fully intentional.
See, the two star in the upcoming comedy, “Ingrid Goes West,” a film about a girl who becomes obsessed with a social media star so she moves to Los Angeles to be her BFF. Like the method actors they are, the stars naturally found the movie as a fitting occasion to let art mimic reality.
But if you look closer at the pics, you’ll notice that the two weren’t as exactly identical as we thought. Though they also matched in black court shoes, Plaza sported gold embellishments on her dress, while Olsen’s were silver. (Close enough, right?)
Also, as the younger sister of two mega-famous twins, Olsen likely grew tired of the act after the red carpet. As seen from pictures later in the night, the Marvel star changed out of the dress into a more subdued all-black ensemble, leaving Plaza to fly solo. It’s alright, Aubrey. We’ll match with you.
