José Neves is the CEO and Founder of Farfetch. He is a veteran of the industry and has been in this space for last 10 years. In 2007, Farfetch was created to bring together his interest in retail and tech. Farfetch.com acts like a storefront for independent e-commerce stores. It houses most of the luxury brands as well. It acts as the one stop shop for consumers wanting to shop luxury brands. Currently it houses about 400 or so brands.
Looking back at 2016
This year has been a remarkable year for Farfetch. The company has been valued for around 1.5 billion dollars making it a unicorn in the e-commerce space. Creating a truly omni-channel platform with a seamless integration of online and offline storefront is what Jose has been successfully able to establish. One of the key strategic moves by the company has been to hire Stephanie Phair as a Chief Strategy Office. The upcoming year shows a lot of promise for this platform with a potential of an IPO offering.
